A TIBETAN GILT-BRONZE FIGURE OF AMITAYUS
17TH/18TH CENTURY

Seated in dhyanasana on a double-lotus base with his hands held in dhyana mudra, wearing elaborate jewellery and a dhoti, his hair fashioned into a high chignon beneath a crown, the base sealed and engraved with a double vajra, 1kg, 17cm.

From the collection of Sir Kenneth Dugald Stewart Bt (1882-1972) and thence by descent.
