A CHINESE GREEN-OVERLAY GLASS SNUFF BOTTLE
YANGZHOU, SCHOOL OF LI JUNTING, 1840-1890

Of flattened ovoid form, decorated to one side with a cricket perched on a chrysanthemum plant, the other side decorated with a dragonfly flying above lotus, with beast-mask handles and a seal mark reading dagu, meaning 'best of luck', 5.3cm.

From the Bob Copley collection, purchased from Robert Kleiner & Co Ltd, together with a copy of an invoice, dated 21st October 2013, previously from Mrs Pattison, China c.1930-40 and then her daughter, Nancy McCarthy by descent.
