A TIBETAN GILT BRONZE FIGURE OF SHADAKSHARI AVALOKITESHVARA
17TH CENTURY
Seated in vajraparyankasana on a lotus throne, the primary hands folded in namaskara mudra in front of the chest and the secondary hands raised, wearing a dhoti, adorned with jewellery and a tiara inlaid with turquoise and coral beads, the blue-painted hair arranged in a high chignon surmounted by the head of Amitabha, the base sealed and incised with a four-pointed vajra, 13cm, 637g.
