A rare set of five London delftware dry drug or pill jars c.1720, painted in blue with peacocks flanking baskets of fruit above inscribed banners, titled 'PL:COCHIÆ MINO', 'TROCH.CAPPAR', 'P:RUSSY', 'T:DECARRABE' and 'TROCH.ALKEK', some glaze chipping, 9.6cm. (5)

The jars contained a variety of pills and lozenges used as purgatives, expectorants and sedatives, with ingredients including aloes, wild cherry, capers and scammony.
