A Staffordshire portrait figure of George Washington, standing and holding his tricorn hat in his left hand, his coat glazed a rich cobalt blue, 19th century, 39.5cm.
This figure was more commonly made as a portrait of Benjamin Franklin, but frequently titled 'Washington'. Only one model with a true likeness of Washington is believed to have been made.
