A good Birmingham or South Staffordshire bird bonbonniere c.1760-70, modelled as a goldfinch preening its feathers, its head tucking under its left wing, recumbent on a grassy base, with gilt coloured metal mount, the hinged cover painted with a further bird perched on a flowering branch above a beetle, 7cm.
