An early 19th century French prisoner of war straw work casket, the lift-off top inset a mirror revealing two coloured engravings above a lift-out tray fitted with a heart shape box and cover, two other boxes, above four further compartments and a cylindrical case, 11.3cm high, 12.2cm wide, together with a straw work box in the form of a book, the interior with lidded compartments, a straw work needle case with a pierced outer slip, and a straw work panel of a river scene. (4)

Provenance: A private collection in the Cotswolds.
