These chairs derive from a pattern in Thomas Sheraton's, Cabinet Dictionary, vol. I, 1803, pl. 31. A similar pair of hall chairs was sold by Christie's, Fine English Furniture, 22nd April 2004, lot 124 for £16,370 (including premium).
