A George III needlework sampler by Sarah Johnson, worked in various colours with alphabets, numbers, the Lord's prayer, 'GR crowned', urns of flowers, birds, a lion and unicorn and inscribed 'Be a Guide to me Sarah Johnson her sampler wrought in the yaer 1769 SJ the Daughter of Nicholas and Rebekah Johnson born Feb the sixteenth in the year of our lord 1756', 44.4 x 29.3cm, in a later glazed bird's eye maple frame.
