A 19th century German brass wine cooler by Herman Robert Bichweiler, in Renaissance style, the ribbed lid with a ball finial above a lobed and spiral twist body with patinated ram's head mask ring handles, the base stamped 'R. BICHWEILER HAMBURG', 46.5cm high, 45.5cm wide.
Herman Robert Bichweiler was a designer and architect and established 'Die Kunstgewerbliche Werkstätt' in partnership with Dr. E. Berlieu in Hamburg in 1878.
