An 18th century copper bookplate for Cardinal Henry Stuart, engraved with his coat of arms, the reverse with a hand written paper label inscribed 'Prince Henry Stuart Cardinal of York AE bookplate from the Marquis Vete... family Henry IX 1788', 7.8 x 6cm, in a fitted leather case.

Henry Benedict Stuart (1725-1807) was a Roman Catholic Cardinal and the fourth and final Jacobite heir to publicly claim the thrones of England, Scotland, France and Ireland.
