A late 19th century French praxinoscope theatre by E.R (Raynaud, Paris), the shagreen box inscribed 'PRAXINOSCOPE-THEATRE, BREVETE S.G.D EN FRANCE & A L'ETRANGER' the paper lined interior with a paper label inscribed 'MENTION HONORABLE A L'EXPOSITION UNIVERSELLE 1878, MEDAILLE D'ARGENT PARIS '1879 EXPOSITION INTERNATIONALE' , with a 22in black painted drum, on a turned support, with a candle sconce with paper shade, with a viewing window and four backdrop cards and ten motion strips depicting horses and children playing, 13.5cm high, 25cm wide, 26.2cm deep.
