A George III Ackworth School medallion sampler, worked in cross stitch by Mabel Wigham, with flowers, trees, a swan and birds, inscribed ' Mabel Wigham, Ackworth School, 1808', 'A TOKEN OF LOVE 1808' and 'MW to MW 1808', 41.5 x 31.7cm, in a later glazed frame.

Ackworth School, near Pontefract, Yorkshire, was founded in 1779 as a boarding school for Quaker boys and girls. Mabel Wigham was listed in the Ackworth School Catalogue in 1809 as coming from Sheffield.
