A 17th century North Italian cedar cassone, the hinged top penwork decorated with panels of figures flanking a central stylized fountain within a wooded landscape, with birds and lions, to a vacant interior, the pokerwork front with three rectangular panels with centurions, angels, stags and a leaf scroll border with iron side carrying handles on later ball feet, 67.4cm high, 190.3cm wide, 64.5cm deep.

Provenance: The Property of Mrs Denzil Ffennell, formerly of Martyr Worthy Place, Martyr Worthy, Nr. Winchester, Hampshire.
