A 19th century painted and mother of pearl nécessaire

A 19th century painted and mother of pearl nécessaire, inlaid brass marquetry, the lid centred a cartouche engraved with a monogram to a velvet lined interior, fitted with sewing utensils: scissors, bodkins, a thimble, needles and a mother of pearl handled folding knife, the pull-out tray revealing a silk pouch of needles, 4.1cm high, 17cm wide, 10.6cm deep.
