A Victorian green leather writing slope, with a sunken brass handle to the hinged cover with a pocket enclosing a blotting pad to a further hinged cover with inset ceramic panels with stationary pocket and lift-out pen and ink tray with three boxes for light and ink having brass plaques inscribed 'Combs Patent 327. REGTD 4TH DECR 1844', with a brass lock stamped Bramah London forced, 6in (15.2cm) h, 14.5in (37cm) w, 10.75in (27.3cm) d.
