A Victorian black leather writing slope, with a sunken brass handle to the hinged cover with a pocket enclosing a blotting pad to a further hinged cover with inset ceramic panels with stationary pocket and lift out pen and ink tray with three boxes for light and ink having brass plaques inscribed 'Combs Patent 327. REGTD 4TH DECR 1844', with a brass lock stamped Bramah London Forced, 6in (15.2cm) h, 14.5in (37cm) w, 10.75in (27.3cm) d.
