The sale opens with over 150 lots from a distinguished Belgravia townhouse. Assembled over the past 30–40 years, the collection comprises pieces acquired predominantly from leading London dealers. Among the highlights are a fine pair of Austrian cut-glass and lapis lazuli urns and covers (Lot 144, estimate £3,000–5,000) and a monumental George III Blue John urn (Lot 143, estimate £2,000–3,000).
Following this is The Property of a Lady (Lots 155–186), removed from a country house near Ludlow. This elegant collection includes a wonderful and robust early Victorian library table (Lot 165, estimate £800–1,200) and a fine pair of Italian pietra dura plaques (Lot 186, estimate £800–1,200).
Lots 187–221 come from the estate of a deceased collector and feature early oak furniture alongside an impressive group of needlework samplers. A particular highlight is Lot 214, a rare early George III sampler, formerly in the collection of Marcus B. Huish.
The sale then continues with a strong selection of tapestries, early oak furniture, and metalwork, together with a private collection of truncheons (Lots 286–308).
The auction concludes with a private collection of papier-mâché works and an intriguing collection of North American Indigenous artefacts, bringing a fascinating and varied sale to a close.
