A JAPANESE TEAPOT AND COVER BY MIYAGAWA (MAKUZU) KŌZAN (1842-1916)

Modelled as a fantastical bird with curled feathers, the head forming the spout; with a tall bail handle above and the cover with a flower-shaped knop; decorated all-over in brightly coloured enamels with auspicious objects amongst scrolling tendrils and seigaiha, the wings with writhing dragons; the base signed Makuzu Kozan sei in a rectangular cartouche, 19cm.
