TWO JAPANESE IRO-NABESHIMA SAKE SETS BY THE IMAEMON WORKSHOP
HEISEI ERA, 20TH/21ST CENTURY

The first including a globular sake bottle with a tall cylindrical neck and two small cups, decorated with pomegranates, in a tomobako (wood box) inscribed Nishiki zakuro-e shuki (polychrome sake set with pomegranates) and Imaemon to the reverse; the other set with a design of cords and tassels, in a tomobako inscribed Nishiki himo-e shuki (polychrome sake set with tassels) and Imaemon; all painted in underglaze blue and polychrome enamels; each piece signed Imaemon in underglaze blue underneath; 11.2cm max. (8)
