MEIJI ERA, 19TH CENTURY
Of tall baluster form, raised on four scrolling feet and with archaistic handles shaped as stylised frogs; the side embellished with a bird of prey perched on rockwork by a stream, observing a small snake below; the reverse with a pheasant amongst chrysanthemum, with formal borders to the shoulder and neck; all rendered in low relief with details in gilt and silver, 38.5cm.
