George III, Pattern or Trial Striking of the Crown, 1818, in lead, by Benedetto Pistrucci, struck with a collar on separate lead planchets with both images and legends retrograde, Obverse, laureate bust as currency type, toothed border, on 4mm flan, (cf Selig [Spink 131, 2 March, 1999] 1207); Reverse, St. George slays the dragon, the legend around in Garter, as currency type, toothed border, on 4mm flan, 39mm. Obverse very fine with some scuffmarks and scratches reverse more marke, fine. (2)
