Four medals to Petty Officer Second Class Thomas Robinson, Royal Navy: Egypt and Sudan 1882-89, dated reverse, 2 clasps: Alexandria 11th July, Suakin 1884 (T. ROBINSON. Thomas Robinson was born in April 1865 in Dawson Grove, Cavan & Monaghan, Ireland. He entered the Royal Navy in 1880 as Boy 2nd Class in H.M.S. Impregnable. He served as Boy 1st Class in H.M.S. Alexandra for the Bombardment of Alexandria in July 1882, and was made Ordinary Seaman in 1884. He was in H.M.S. Carysfort for the Suakin operation of February-March 1884. He served in various Coastguard Stations from 1893 to 1904, and joined the Royal Fleet Reserve in 1905. He re-entered the Navy in 1914 and served ashore during the Great War, before the conclusion of his service in February 1919.
