Commissioned Surgeon Lieutenant, 29th July 1893; Surgeon Captain, 29th July 1896; Major, 30th January 1905. Also Civil and Principal, Medical School, Agra. Served on the North West Frontier in the Arbor Expedition of 1894, and with the Waziristan Expedition of 1894-95. Took part in the operations in Samana and in the Kurram Valley, August and September 1897.
