Our December sale features over 400 lots of 20^th-century and contemporary art. Amongst the highlights is a work by Paul Henry, one of Ireland’s greatest landscape artists. The painting offered here is a typical example, with its vast sky, massed clouds and towering mountains painted in the artist’s instantly recognisable palette of bright blues and whites.

The sale also features two landscapes by Sir Alfred Munnings, which demonstrate the joy he took in a genre that was his first love, and to which he turned when he wished to paint purely for pleasure. Other highlights by British painters include works by William Scott, Ivon Hitchens, Mary Fedden, Edward Seago, Paul Feiler and Montague Dawson.

Amongst the notable works by European artists are a sun-drenched landscape by Charles Camoin, a founding member of the Fauves, and a moving example of Edvard Munch’s early etchings. The sale further includes a large and diverse group of sculptures, including works by Joseph Csaky, Dylan Lewis, Emily Young and Robert Adams. We are also delighted to include 80 lots from the collection of Bob and Elisabeth Boas, which centres around the work of members of the New English Art Club.
