A matched set of six Victorian Regimental silver menu holders, The 8th (King's Royal Irish) Hussars,
three by E. Stockwell, London 1884/86, (struts 1890), and three by Gibson and Langman, London 1890,
upright rectangular form, applied with the Regimental badge, hinged easel strut support, height 18.3cm, approx. weight 25oz. (6)
The Regiment served in Crimea and took part in the Charge of the Light Brigade. They served in both World Wars and in Korea. In 1958 they amalgamated with the 4th Queen's Own Hussars to become the Queen's Royal Irish Hussars.
