A Spanish/Spanish Colonial silver and metalware four-light sanctuary lamp,
marked Caro in various places, probably early-19th century,
circular baluster form, decorated with repoussé scrolls, flowers, cherub masks and leaves, the corona hung with eight pierced chains, with four scroll arms each supporting a plain capital, the base with a ring attachment and a dark red tassel, height 134cm, diameter 99cm, approx. total gross weight 8.6kg.

Provenance: Bought from Sotheby's Madrid in the early 1990's.
