A Victorian Scottish silver Chess trophy ewer,
by James Reid, Glasgow 1881,
baluster form, embossed with a band of chess pieces, leaf-capped scroll handle, chased decoration and inscribed with the names of winners from 1882-1891, and also inscribed 'Having won this cup three years in succession, it now becomes the property of Mr G.E Barbier', height 26cm, approx. weight 15oz.
