An early 18th century Norwegian silver peg tankard,

maker's mark twice to base PL conjoined H, first quarter of the 18th century,

cylindrical form, the interior with pegs, the hinged cover with engraved decoration, a lion thumb-piece and set with a coin, scroll handle, on three claw and ball feet with pierced foliate scroll mounts with masks, with a later presentation inscription, height 20cm, approx. weight 25oz.
