A17th century Dutch silver wedding medallion
A 17th century Dutch silver wedding medallion,
unmarked, in the manner of Abraham van den Hecken, Amsterdam circa 1620,
lozenge form, the front with the courtly pair, their hands clasped holding a bunch of flowers, with a chain and the symbol of death at their feet, within a chased border including the Pelican in Her Piety, stags and a winged heart, the reverse with clasped hands and inscribed, length 5.8cm, approx. weight 1.2oz.
