A metalware-mounted travelling casket,
unmarked, probably 18th century and later,
rectangular wooden carcass, covered in silk and with plain mounts, the sides with drop handles, the sloped hinged cover applied with an armorial, velvet and material lined interior with a pull-out tray and six further compartments, also with two pegs that pull-out to release the drawer, on four bun feet, height 35cm.
The arms are that of Elton, Baronets of Bristol: Abraham Elton (1654-1728) was created 1st Baronet of Bristol in 1717 and was succeeded by his son, another Abraham (1679-1742).
