A George II silver kettle on stand,
by Samuel Courtauld, London 1758,
inverted pear form, embossed and chased with foliate scroll decoration, the pull-off cover with a gadroon border and foliate finial, engraved with an armorial, hinged turned baluster wooden handle with scroll supports, the stand of circular form, pierced decoration, gadroon border, on three scroll legs with pierced pad feet, height 38cm., approx. total weight 79oz.

Provenance: A Private Collection.
The arms are those of Despayne impaling Hackluyt or Lenthall, possibly of Burford, Oxfordshire or Bessels Leigh, Berkshire.
