A late 18th century American silver tea pot,
marked JR twice to base for Joseph Richardson Jr., Philadelphia circa 1790/1800,
plain oval form, scroll handle and tapering spout, the flush hinged domed cover with an elongated urn finial, beaded borders, the underside inscribed 'I Pemberton to J Inskeep', length 17.5cm, height 17.5cm, approx. weight 23.8oz.
J Inskeep could possibly be for John Inskeep (1757-1834), Mayor of Philadelphia, serving twice from 1800-1801 and 1805-1806.
