A George III silver two-bottle oil and vinegar stand,

by R. Piercy, London 1767,

double circular form, gadroon wirework frame, leaf capped scroll handle, on four scroll legs terminating in shell pad feet, with two silver-mounted oil and vinegar bottles with scroll handles, fluted thumb-pieces and engraved with a crest, height 23cm, approx. weight 16oz.

The crest is that of Knatchbull, created baronets of Mersham Hatch, Kent in 1641. Most likely for Sir Edward Knatchbull, (1704-1789) 7th Baronet, MP for Armagh.
