An 18th century Austro-Hungarian snuff box, of shallow oblong form with reeded borders and a gilt interior, the cover and base stamped in low relief with putti in a grotto landscape, maker's mark "DS", town mark "crown", struck also with Prussian storage marks, unascribed c.1740, 3.15in (8cm) wide, 3oz.
