A rare William III child's gold rattle with a large coral teether and a tapering octagonal body with a suspensory ring at the end of the body with alternating plain and engraved strips of scrolls and debased foliage, with two gilt-metal bells dependant, inscribed Benj'n Vigor 1697'*, maker's mark only, 'P?' (partially obscured), London c.1697, 5.5in (14cm) long.
