A George III Scottish mounted hardwood tipstaff engraved with the initials 'GIIIR' below the Royal Crown at one end and a castle and the inscription 'Wester Portsburgh - 1803' at the other, unmarked c. 1800, 6in (15.2cm). *The little Burgh of Wester Portsburgh, Lothian was a trade suburb of Edinburgh.
