A rare William III ascribed provincial 'lighthouse' caster

A rare William III ascribed provincial 'lighthouse' caster, with a ribbed foot, moulded girdle and a high domed cover with a ribbed top section and a large knop finial, pricked on one side with the initials 'A' over 'WA' over the date '1699', further engraved with an unusual pennant armorial * with sixteen quarterings, the base initialled 'MAB' and engraved with a key to the quarterings and inscribed, 'The seize quartiers of the issue of Horace Robert Pechell and Caroline Mary Kerr', maker's mark only struck four times, by William Clare of Warminster c. 1699, 8in (20.2cm) high, 9oz. * Robert Pechell married Caroline Mary Kerr in 1826 which pinpoints the date of the engraved armorial.
