A LARGE CHINESE CANTON ENAMEL 'SCHOLARS' DISH
18TH CENTURY

Painted to the centre with bright enamels with a group of scholars examining a scroll, surrounded by boys carrying further books, all surrounded by borders of key fret and flowerheads and scrolling tendrils, the exterior similarly decorated with four evenly spaced chilong amid lotus scroll against a yellow ground, the base with a chilong medallion, 44.2cm.
