A CHINESE CARVED CINNABAR LACQUER 'BOYS AND SCHOLARS' CABINET
QIANLONG 1736-95

Of rectangular form raised on four metal feet, the front with two hinged doors carved with panels of boys and scholars within a mountainous landscape amongst pavilions, pine trees and wutong trees, all within key-fret borders, the top and two short sides decorated with cell diaper, the doors opening to reveal a single shelf within the black-lacquered interior, 41.2cm high x 36.2cm wide x 15.2cm deep.
