TWO JAPANESE IRO-NABESHIMA VASES BY THE IMAEMON WORKSHOP
HEISEI ERA, 20TH/21ST CENTURY

One a gourd-shaped vase decorated with chrysanthemum, the base signed Imaemon in underglaze blue, with a tomobako (wood box) inscribed Nishiku kiku-e hyobin (polychrome gourd vase with chrysanthemum) and Imaemon; the other of bulbous shape, painted with sprays of peony, the base also signed Imaemon, the tomobako inscribed Hizen, Arita, and Nishiki-ka Moyō kabin (polychrome vase with flower pattern) and Imaemon and Imaizumi to the reverse, 13.4cm and 18.5cm.
