A rare Queen Anne Scottish silver quaich,
by Robert Inglis, Edinburgh 1713, assay master Edward Penman,
circular form, the body engraved with simulated wooden staves, with alternating panels of engraved tulips and roses, the side lug handles with simple engraved borders and initialled 'I McL' and 'AC', on a circular foot, the underside of the base with a crowned 'B' and the underside of one handle inscribed ' Breadalbane', the terminals of the handles inscribed 'l' or '1', length handle to handle 26.8cm, approx. weight 10.2oz.

Exhibited: The quaich is mentioned as item 49 in Scottish National Memorials- a record of the historical and Archaeological Collection in the Bishop's Castle, Glasgow 1888.
The castle was temporarily reconstructed on the north bank of the River Kelvin in Kelvingrove Park for the International Exhibition of 1888, where the quaich was on loan from the Marquis of Breadalbane.
The quaich is also referenced in 'Apollo' magazine in August 1935, page 117, and in July 1938, P.10.
